Follow all updates, performance enhancements, and new export features across Cut Video Gaps desktop releases.
v1.1.0Latest Public Beta
Try Cut Video Gaps before you sign in, choose between AI Auto-Cut and Fast Cut for every file, and fine-tune long videos on a sharp, Final Cut-style timeline.
Key Changes & Improvements
Try the app without an account: open, cut and review any video. You sign in only when you export, and the export then continues by itself.
Choose AI Auto-Cut or Fast Cut after opening a file. Each option shows what it finds and how long it takes for your video, and the app can remember your choice.
New timeline zoom, like Final Cut: ⌘+ / ⌘−, pinch, or ⇧Z to fit. It zooms around the playhead or your mouse, down to about 2 seconds on any video length, and the waveform stays sharp.
Cut edges snap to whole frames when you drag them.
Smarter bad-take detection: spoken restarts ("wait…", "let me restart") and chatter at the start or end of a recording are found too.
The silence threshold adapts to each recording's room tone, sliders update the cuts instantly, and undo restores your slider settings.
Audio-only files: fast lossless export for MP3, AAC and Opus, and WAV, AIFF and FLAC keep their original bit depth.
Fixed: long videos with hundreds of cuts no longer blank parts of the window.
Fixed: the Export As and language menus are no longer cut off in the sidebar.
Speech-aware bad-take detection, labelled cut types, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu bad-take support, and Premiere Pro and After Effects exports.
Key Changes & Improvements
Speech-aware bad takes: clear restarts are cut automatically, keeping your last good take. Uncertain ones appear as suggestions you can click to cut.
Repeated words ("I I think", stutters) and filler words are cut. Stray words before the real start or after the end (like a trailing "Okay.") are suggested for removal.
Every cut is labelled and colour-coded by type (silence, filler, repeat, bad take, stray words), with one-click keep or cut all of a type and time saved per type. The selected cut shows the exact words being removed.
Silence cuts never clip a spoken word, thanks to word-level protection.
Bad-take detection for Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu, plus a warning with one-click re-run when the selected language doesn't match the speech.
New editor exports: a Premiere Pro XML project (File › Import) and an After Effects .jsx script that builds a composition, alongside Final Cut Pro XML. All three point at your original media: no re-encode, frame-accurate, source timecode kept.
Playback now pauses when analysis or export starts, and a Back to editing button appears after export.
Redesigned Preferences.
Native Apple Silicon FFprobe, so Rosetta is no longer needed.
Smaller download with a new installer, and the Whisper model is bundled so AI Auto Cut works offline.
