Cut Video Gaps v1.1.0 is currently available in public beta for macOS 13.0+ (Apple Silicon). The core mission of the product is simple: deliver lightning-fast silence cutting on your Mac without forcing users to upload their video or pay costly cloud AI subscription tokens.
Confirmed Current Capabilities (v1.1.0)
- On-device Whisper Speech Recognition: Bundled local Whisper engine runs speech-aware detection directly on your Mac hardware.
- Fast Cut Engine: Bundled local FFmpeg decibel-threshold filter for near-instant scanning of clean audio tracks.
- Bad Takes, Repeats and Filler Words: Clear restarts are cut automatically, keeping the last good take, with uncertain ones shown as suggestions. Repeated words, stutters and filler words are cut, and stray words before the start or after the end are suggested.
- Interactive Visual Timeline: Inspect, scrub, resize cut boundaries, or delete specific cuts before saving. Every cut is labelled and colour-coded by type, with one-click keep or cut all of a type.
- Word-Level Protection: Silence cuts never clip a spoken word.
- Zero Media Uploads: Video and audio files stay on your Mac. A small account check verifies account authentication and monthly quota.
- Export Workflows: Export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML 1.10, Final Cut Pro 10.6+), a Premiere Pro XML project or an After Effects .jsx script, all pointing at your original media with no re-encode and source timecode kept. Or save a trimmed video file (keeping MP4, MOV, M4V or MKV where possible), or clean audio for audio-only files.
- Input Flexibility: Direct import support for MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM, and audio files (WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, AIFF).
- Generous Beta Quota: 15 free hours/month provided free during the public beta.
- Confirmed Languages: English, Hindi, and Punjabi speech tested by the owner across conversational takes. Bad-take detection also covers Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu, with a warning and one-click re-run if the selected language doesn't match the speech.

All items listed below represent owner-confirmed development objectives. To maintain absolute transparency, we do not commit to speculative release dates, but we actively engineer these improvements for future public releases.
Windows Desktop Application (In Development) & Intel Mac Support (Planned)
While Cut Video Gaps is currently available in public beta for Apple Silicon Macs, a Windows build is in development and Intel Mac support is planned. We are porting our bundled Whisper speech recognition and FFmpeg pipeline to Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), and native x86_64 builds for Intel Macs running macOS 13+ are planned after that. Creators on PC and Intel Mac hardware can join our waitlist on the download page to receive early beta invitations.
Pro and Team Subscription Tiers
Currently, all beta users enjoy 15 free hours/month. For full-time editors, post-production agencies, and high-volume media houses who produce dozens of hours of video every week, we are designing Pro and Team tiers that will offer expanded or unlimited export capacity.
Expanded Language Testing and Benchmarking
Whisper is capable of multilingual transcription. We have verified performance across English, Hindi, and Punjabi. Planned research includes documenting exact accuracy thresholds across Spanish, French, German, and regional South Asian dialects to provide editors with transparent performance data.
Refined Timeline Navigation & NLE Workflow Testing
Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML), Premiere Pro XML and After Effects script exports are available today. We are planning further testing and refinement across other major editing environments before publishing verified compatibility guarantees.
